Amanda Stone

Amanda Stone, a freelance dancer located in New York City, discovered her passion for dance at a young age in Kansas City. While there, she was a part of pre-professional dance companies, including Artists Revealed, Defy Dance Project, iPush, and Kinfigure. Her training included Above the Barre Dance Academy and Kansas School of Classical Ballet. Recently, Amanda graduated from Southern Methodist University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance, along with minors in Arts Management, Advertising, and Business. Within the SMU dance program, her primary focus was on the Graham, Balanchine, and Jazz techniques. She learned under the direction of Silas Farley, Carter Alexander, Leslie Peck, Myra Woodruff, and Mark Burrell. During her time at SMU, Amanda performed works by choreographers such as Matthew Neenan, Adam Hougland, George Balanchine, and more. After graduating, Amanda moved to Chicago and joined the Trainee Program at Visceral Dance under the direction of Caitlin Cucchiara. She has also attended summer programs at Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, BalletX, BODYTRAFFIC, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, and NW Dance Project.
